What We Believe

MISSION STATEMENT

The Bridge Church exists to build bridges for people to come to Jesus and grow in His grace.

VISION STATEMENT

The Bridge Church will be highly valued by the unchurched
for its commitment to its neighborhood, community, and world.

CORE VALUES

Deep Compassion: We believe that God loves every person and matters deeply to Him; we are therefore committed to loving all people as He does. We want to reach the people no one else is reaching.
Cultivated Relationships: We believe God is a relational God and created us as relational beings; we are therefore committed to developing a growing relationship with God, with other Christ followers, and with those who do not know Him.
Bold Action: We believe our God is a Big God who does big things in our world; we therefore want to be faith-filled, big thinking risk takers who never choose to play it safe.
Useful Service: We believe God gifted each of us to serve and help one another; we are therefore committed to finding ways to use our gifts and help meet the real needs of people around us.
Authentic Living: We believe that Jesus died to change our lives; we therefore want to be people who seek to consistently live out the things that we say we believe. We want our actions to match our words and want to be known for what we are for, not what we are against.
Radical Generosity: We will believe God provides us with everything that we need and we are to share what He has entrusted to us. We therefore want to be known for being generous and using what we have been given to help others.

CORE BELIEFS

The Word of God
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God without error in the original writings.
Jesus Christ
Matthew 1:20-25; Acts 2:22-36
We believe in the Deity and the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He died upon the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of the world, that He rose from the dead and ascended into Heaven, from where He will return with Power and Glory, and He provides the only means of salvation for us.
The Trinity
Acts 2:32-33; Matthew 28:19
We believe in one God. Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Salvation
Romans 3:22-24; John 16:5-11; Eph. 2:8-9
We believe that all people have sinned and come short of the glory of God, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful people. We believe in justification by faith alone, realizing that it is impossible for man, through works, to save himself.
Security
Romans 8:31-39; 1 John 5:18; 2 Timothy 1:12; John 14:16
We believe in the eternal security of the true believer.
Eternal Life
Matthew 25:36; John 5:24-29
We believe in the resurrection of the saved into everlasting life in Heaven, and the resurrection of the lost or unsaved into eternal punishment.
