Hello there Bridge Church Family!

Can you believe it? This Sunday marks the very first Sunday of a brand-new year – 2025!?  As we step into this new season together, I want to personally invite you to join us at 10:00 a.m. for a powerful, joy-filled celebration of all that God is going to do next in and through our lives. We have so much to be thankful for from the past, but let me tell you – the future? It’s so far beyond what we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20)!

This Sunday, we’re kicking off an exciting new message series called: "The Mount: New Year. New You. New Habits." Over the next five weeks, we’ll dive deep into Jesus’ most famous sermon, the Sermon on the Mount, to uncover five life-changing spiritual habits. These are the practices Jesus taught to help us live fully and follow "The Way" (see Acts 9:2, 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22) of Jesus Christ.

If you’re looking for a fresh start, a spiritual reset, or just need some encouragement for the year ahead, this is THE series for you.

This Sunday, I’ll be teaching from Matthew 7:24-27, focusing on the first and most important spiritual habit of Jesus – daily time in God’s Word. Don’t miss it!

Here’s what else you can look forward to:

•The launch of our brand-new small group study to go along with the series. If you’re not part of a small group yet, now’s the perfect time to join! Existing Small Group Hosts can pick up their materials and a special gift, and if God has placed it on your heart to lead a new group, we’ll help you get started.

•After the service, stick around for our first-of the new year's "Coffee with the Pastor" in the Welcome Center. If you’re new to The Bridge, I’d love to meet you! Enjoy a free Starbucks coffee and a delicious Doughboy Donut on us.

•And… some HUGE announcements about what God has in store next for our church family. Trust me, you won’t want to miss these!

As we step into this new year, let’s cling to the promise of Lamentations 3:22-23:
"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

"This Sunday is the perfect time to return to church, bring a friend, or start attending for the first time. Let’s ring in 2025 together and celebrate the incredible plans God has for us.

First Place for Health Bible Study
Starting Monday January 6th 5pm

Our First Place for Health women’s group will be starting a new Bible study to kick off the year. Starting Monday January 6th at 5pm via Zoom. They will be going over the book “Fit For A King” by Debbie Behling. Email Janet McHenry (prayer@thebridgereno.com) to join.

Kids Kingdom News:
Well, another year is over and a new one has just begun. This week we will be back on our regular schedule.  We are still in our Star Voyager Series.  This week we will be talking about the woman at the well. A lot of good things will be happening this year so don't miss out. See all of you on Sunday. - Miss Terry

Food Pantry Update:
In the month of December we served 252 families which included hams purchased for 60 families and additional gifts of 12 hams from Smith’s along with 30 turkeys from the Gospel Mission. In November, we were also gifted 80 turkeys from the Reno Sparks Gospel mission. We are so blessed and grateful for our community partners and church congregation. Without your generosity and our dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to provide these families (neighbors) with holiday Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, along with all the fixings. We continue to give God all the praise for what he provides to our church food pantry, which we feel has become one of the best in town. Our January donation requests are chili and toilet paper.
